How did the DCC provide support to
community members in 2025?

URGENT SUPPORT & FOLLOW UP

In the first 2 1/2 years of operation (September 2023-March 2026), the DCC had 17,360 engagements with community members and provided services to more than 2,149 people.

RELATIONSHIP BASED CARE

Since opening in September 2023, the DCC has received 3,018 calls for service and welcomed 13,737 visits to its community space.

PUBLIC SAFETY COORDINATION

The DCC launched a coordinated partnership with Northampton Public Safety Dispatch in March 2025. In August 2025, 11% of calls received by the DCC were from Northampton Public Safety Dispatch.

Community Anchor Space

The DCC Community Space provides a safe, supportive environment where community members can stabilize during challenging moments, access resources, and connect with ongoing support services, reinforcing the DCC’s commitment to holistic care.

Comprehensive Community Support

Community Responders utilize person-centered and trauma-informed practices to offer conflict resolution, de-escalation, and mediation services, providing effective safety interventions rooted in care. In 2025, the DCC de-escalated over 339 conflicts.

Personalized Wellness Checks

DCC’s Community Responders are skilled in providing wellness checks focused to individual needs, ensuring people receive the help they need promptly.

Proactive Community Engagement

DCC Community Responders engage in proactive outreach efforts, offering early assistance to connect people to necessary support services and prevent crises from occuring.

Resource Connection

The DCC plays an instrumental role connecting community members to vital services, from mental health support to assistance meeting basic needs such as shelter, food, and clothing. Community Responders work diligently to ensure equitable access to resources.

Multi-Agency Collaboration

The DCC has formed strong partnerships with local organizations such as Craig’s Doors, MANNA, Eliot Community Human Services, Hilltown Community Health Care, Clinical & Support Options, and Tapestry. These partnerships help deliver comprehensive support in areas like healthcare, shelter, harm reduction, and mental health services.
